  • Areas of practice

I have been helping people with all forms of mental distress ranging from anger, anxiety, depression, bereavement, mania, traumatic experiences, having to deal with stress at work or at uni, relationship problems, relationship breakups, sexual problems, loneliness, panic attacks, or many other issues. While I understand that this distress is very real it seems important to me the way we usually describe mental distress usually just captures the symptoms of that distress. The journey of making sense of the distress is what the process of therapy is about and it always involves understanding and dealing with the unique personal circumstances of each person.

  • Special areas

People are usually quite good to cope with individual problems life throws at them, it is my experience that it is often a combination of issues that lead to people feeling overwhelmed or stuck or unable to face certain problems in their life, which then gives rise to the symptoms that bring them to therapy like anxiety attacks, or depression of unexplained anger or other unwanted emotions which just don't want to go away.
